Spalted Beech Platters with Penny's 'Brand' of Pyrography

These platters are made from spalted beech and are each approximately 13.5" in diameter. Depending upon the type of rim, the thickness of the piece is between 1 and 2 inches.

The dramatic black lines are caused by a fungal growth in the timber. This is stopped from progressing further by being microwaved. Then using those dramatic lines where possible, Penny creates her burnt drawings onto the wood.

No two pieces of timber are ever the same and as a result, platters are unique and cannot be identically copied.

If you are interested in buying any of the available platters, please send an email to Penny
